This project is to gather and compress the produced associated gas (AG) from the Utorogu, Ughelli East and Ughelli West flowstations comprising High Pressure (HP), Low Pressure (LP) and Surge Vessel (SV) gas. The compressed AG, less utility requirement, is eventually conveyed to Utorogu new Gas Handling Facility (GHF) for treatment to sales gas specification.

The SV gas will be compressed to LP and commingled with the HP (letdown to LP) and LP. The resulting LP gas is then compressed and transported to the Utorogu new GHF for treatment to sales gas specification.

The primary objectives of the Utorogu, Ughelli East and Ughelli West AG solution AG solution project is to reduce flared AG from these fields, and thus protect the 25,000 bopd production from these facilities, while delivering an additional circa 20 MMscfd of gas to the domestic gas network.

Utorogu
The scope for Utorogu includes but not limited to:

  1. Provision of a pressure letdown valve to reduce the HP gas to LP level.
  2. Installation of SV gas compressor, to compress SV gas to LP
  3. Provision of main compressor to compress the commingled SV, LP and HP gas to the condition required for the Utorogu new GHF

Ughelli East

The scope for Ughelli East includes but not limited to:

  1. Provision of a pressure letdown valve to reduce the HP gas to LP level.
  2. Installation of SV gas compressor, to compress SV gas to LP
  3. Provision of main compressor to compress the commingled SV, LP and HP gas and Ughelli West LP gas to the condition required for the Utorogu new GHF.

Ughelli West

The scope for Ughelli West includes but not limited to:

  1. Provision of a pressure letdown valve to reduce the HP gas to LP level.
  2. Installation of SV gas compressor, to compress SV gas to LP

The Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the 3Us AG was carried out by SPDC and provided to METS for verification at Contract Award. METS completed the verification exercise and issued FEED verification reports for review on 9th December, 2011. Final FEED verification reports were issued for approval on 27th February, 2012.

The Detailed Engineering Design (DED) by Makon Engineering and Technical Services (METS) is presently going on with current percentage completion at 53.71%, 56.77% & 57.30% for Utorogu, Ughelli East and West respectively, while overall Engineering progress, which is comprised of FEED, In-house detail Engineering works, vendors’ Engineering deliverables and “As-builts” is at 72.2%, 64.5% & 65.1%, for Utorogu, Ughelli East and West respectively.

The procurement scope for the project is broadly classified into Long Lead Items (LLI) and Bulk materials. The LLI are made up of the compressors, process vessels, Gas Metering system, utility packages like the Electrical / power systems, instrument air packages, Instrument and control systems and so on. On the other hand, the bulk materials are mainly pipes / fittings, manual valves, steel structural members, cables / cable trays etc.

The overall procurement completions across the three sites are 64.25%, 64.25% & 63.99% Utorogu, Ughelli East and West respectively.
